Self-Portrait with industrial ketchup bladder, 2014:
I'm going to call this my conspiracy hypothesis rather than conspiracy theory. This came and went with only a "LOL ironic" response. Her brother says he's "only concerned about the safety of his son" and shows zero concern about his ex, with whom he no longer has to share his son! Convenient ICE!
I mean... it seems pretty obvious that Leavitt asked ICE to take care of her brother's ex-wife problem?

I just noticed that Alexander Calder's Finny Fish, 1948, wittily includes a sardine tin opener.

Can confirm that Meet Me by the Fountain is very, very good.
Putting it out there since it is books-as-gifts time: I have two books in print and in paperback that answer many burning questions about why cities look the way they do geni.us/designofchil...

These weird clickbait ads keep getting weirder and weirder. (The only surviving cast member is Tina Louise, and she is 91.)

Phew. Crisis passed.

Even this sounds potentially cheeky, which is forbidden, so I'm going to go with "Unfortunately, that is a service we do not offer."
I guess I'll just go with "I'm afraid not, as the artist died in 1806."

I got a request for a digital image of a famous Rococo painting from a person with a very new-agey name. After sending it, she replied, "Can I get a signed copy," to which I responded, "By whom?" She said, "By the artist," and now I'm not sure what to say.

Proof that Ernie Bushmiller really did know how to draw Nancy in a drawer, UNLIKE this rare trainwreck of a panel:

I managed to track down a copy of Dirty Looks' second album, Turn it Up, 1981, and OMG this song is the most amazing, stupid, mutated power-pop masterpiece. Was not prepared for such a moronically wonderful hidden gem! www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXcl...

Just saw a PayPal ad featuring an obviously CG/AI Will Ferrell "in a bubble bath" in a typical AI Slop™ interior. So big paycheck for Ferrell and he doesn't even need to show up. It was grotesque.

American artist Walter Quirt was born on this day in 1902 and was an enthusiastic early adopter of artistic trends such as cubism and surrealism. Conflict, 1935, from the Smithsonian American Art collection, shows him really swinging from the surrealist chandeliers:

I've been watching some yard-cleaning videos from SE London, and noticed that so many houses have this peculiar paving stone style with multicolored slabs. I assume this was the style in the late 40s/early 50s when rebuilding areas after the Blitz?

Another music upload, this one is my demented psychedelic/industrial/garage/spacerock jam band The Lemon-Fresh Pinetones performing live behind a curtain between sets of utterly rotten Strawberry Alarm Clock wannabes at the Che Café in San Diego, 1988: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfv3...

One of my pet peeves is when writers refer to judges' "black robes". It's one of the hackiest things a journalist can do.

It's Aura Awareness Day! Portrait of Dr. Dumouchel, oil on canvas by Marcel Duchamp, 1910. I've always loved this awkward, oddball portrait:
