Some time ago I made a janky animation of a cat

Pleased to announce that it's the vis for "spirit cat," the music that got licensed for use in @peregrinepoint.bsky.social 🤍

Enjoy! And if you like what you hear and want me to score your game, hmu on Discord (@/Troisnyx)

Here's the last Sprytewood update before upgrading to godot 4.5.

Spoiler: It's prettier now 🥰
And technically we achieved Character costumization before moonstone island Ha! 😂You can now play as human, goblin or elf.

I do all my best brainstorming/planning laying on the floor trying to get the toddler to sleep.

Today's drawing warmup before I go to Snowflakes rehearsal (and come back to commission and vocal recording work)

My first four-frame animation of a cat, featuring the spirit cat from @peregrinepoint.bsky.social 🤍

Finally starting to work through my backlog of games on Itch and through released games on my wish list.

This will be a thread of my thoughts on the games I'm playing!

Testing out the new HUD and realized the game's really starting to look/feel like a Video Game™

Went to update the bucket objects sprite and ended up implementing a bucket state machine.

Keep the lighthouse lit to help guide lost kitty souls to where they need to be.

💡- Fill and polish the lamp

💌 - Discover the love letters left behind by the keeper

🎣 - Line the walls with your angling trophies

Getting the steam page up has rekindled my drive to work on the game so strongly.

This week I’ve already implemented the process for finding all the letters throughout the lighthouse and drawn/coded most of the lens cleaning mini game.

Happy start of Pride month
Making your own game is fun because sometimes you just get to spend the day writing a bunch of gay love letters to hide throughout it.

I’m living that Edison quote, but it’s a thousand ways not to draw a curved staircase.

Nothing to break you out of a art slump like cutting a game trailer and realizing how little of the game is ready to show!

Brb, gonna spend all day animating a little cutscenes to add SOMETHING new!

One of the best books I’ve read in a very very long time. If you like The Magnus Archives this has a very similar theme of short form horror with an interconnected meta narrative.

Plus its about the horrors intrinsic to the existence of Billionaires which seems topical

Working on one last set piece before I make the basic trailer.

Then i have everything to finish the steam page!

Been in the hospital with the toddler for the last 10 days (he’s ok!)

It has not been productive for gamedev or literally anything else, but I have been able to sit down and write dialogue that has been hanging over me!

3 year anniversary of when I dragged my spouse to Fish Market Close in Edinburgh so that I could see the location of the Anglerfish in the first episode of The Magnus Archives.

They were like “oh this is not a touristy thing, this is a you thing”

I told myself if I ever made a game I was going to have to shoehorn a fishing mini game into it. Which meant I got to spend a relaxing weekend a while back just doodling fish sprites.

I think I would feel better if I could just go lie down in a bog for a while. Maybe a marsh. Some sort of wetlands for sure.

I just feel like some mud and bugs could fix me ya know?

I really appreciate how easy and straightforward setting up controller support was in Godot!
