#nowspinning This Afternoon’s Malady by Jejune. 1998. RE 2026 by numero group. I got the CD when it came out and wore it out. When I first moved to Boston, I got to see them live at TT the bear’s to a sparse crowd. This is nostalgia pressed into grooves for me. I’m so stoked to have it now.

The churn of stale words in the heart again. The sun shone, having no alternative, on the nothing new. This tired abstract anger; inarticulate passive opposition. I pushed and pulled in vain; the wheels would not turn. How hideous is the semicolon.
My Grading Scale for the Fall Semester, Composed Entirely of Samuel Beckett Quotes

Real Americans buy their daughters steel for Christmas.
Trump: "You can give up certain products. You could give up pencils. Because under the China policy, every child can get 37 pencils. They only need 1 or 2. They don't need that many. You always need steel. You don't need 37 dolls for your daughter. 2 or 3 is nice. So we're doing things right."

The best part of my failed Home Depot trip.

The Mississippi miracle keeps coming up with conservative prognosticators. When I look at scores of 3rd grade vs 8th grade it doesn’t look as impressive. 8th grade scores have stagnated more or less since 98. Am I missing something? #edusky

We didn’t need all these biographical Willy Wonka movies about who he is as a person. In the older versions, he’s obviously God or the Devil. You’re supposed to spend the entire story wondering which one and gradually become worried they’re the same being

Rooting for him and NYC so hard.

I’ve run the numbers, I’m saving.
$400 Gaggia classic pro
$300 sette 270 grinder
$300 Gaggiuino upgrades =$1000

I make a minimum of 60 espresso shots a month and spend $60/month on coffee.

At shop 60 shots * $4/shot = $240

I save $180 per month. In 6 months I’m in black.
the fun thing about home espresso brewing is it will absolutely not save you money, especially if you are the kind of person who tends to become obsessive about technical details

It’s 6:05pm. 12 trick or treaters. 1 shot of Malort. 3 plays of thriller so far. As tradition, it will play on repeat until we run out of candy. My decent into madness begins.

Happy Halloween!!

The Detroit Scarefest was the socialist fair I've always wanted. It's free to get in. All rides and attractions are free. Workers come around and give you free candy. Yes, there are long lines, but you have to prioritize what you want to do. No one gets to skip ahead. Everyone is equal.

Waiting in line is part of the fair / amusement park experience. Fast pass shouldn’t exist. You shouldn’t be able to buy your way out of waiting.
