You’re describing an emergency. The world is also watching you and waiting for you to do something.

Are you going to establish an eviction moratorium? Rent is due today.
They’re taking kids from Minnesota and sending them to detention camps. They’re shooting American citizens in the street and locking investigators out of the crime scenes. The world is watching what happens next.
Hundreds of people spelled out the distress signal "SOS" on Bde Maka Ska in Minneapolis on Friday, Jan. 30.

I called Amy and Tina. Again. If Lindsey Fucking Graham can shut down the Senate b/c he'd pissed his phone records were looked at then they can shut it down for what's happening to Minnesota!!! God, I'm so angry.
NO SENATE VOTE TONIGHT

Couldn’t get all senators to allow a speedy vote. Schumer tells reporters Lindsey Graham is blocking it. “That’s the holdup,” Schumer tells reporters. Graham wants to keep a provision letting him sue to pocket $500,000 over J6 phone records seized.

My elderly, mormon mom in Woodbury is talking about going out to protest this weekend because the giant Minneapolis one inspired her to want to feel that in her own community

I am introducing the Cut It Out And This Time I Really Mean It bill. It provides an additional $57 billion to the murder goons but they will agree to wear business casual Monday through Thursday and if they do any murders they have to put a dollar in this jar.

Late night thought: Based on personal experience, it seems like Minnesotans are much more obsessed with their state bird than other states are. What do you think is going on there? Loons are cool, but a few other states have cool birds too and aren't obsessed

And may only be the tip of the iceberg. A major portion of leases give until the 5th of the month to pay. Then state law requires 14 days written notice. Three weeks from now, these numbers might look quaint.
Eviction filings are increasing: 164 filed last Wednesday, 83 on Thursday, 165 on Friday.

The financial aid requests we're hearing from clients at HOME Line are coming at a VASTLY higher rate now than during the first 6 months of the pandemic.

I'm old enough to remember when he gutted the Keeping Nurses at the Bedside Act to appease Mayo. But sure, he loves nurses or whatever.
A little extra love to Minnesota nurses today.

What's that street in South Minneapolis around Seward with the closed off to cars area between the two rows of houses?

we actually need to band together and let the dems know we will never donate another cent or vote for the party again if a single member of the party votes to give a single cent to ice ever again

I keep hearing aircraft circling that isn't on the flight trackers. Feels like I'm losing my mind. Feds? I don't think drones would be this loud.

People can say the most heinous racist slurs on Instagram, but I make one little joke about cocaine and suddenly I'm banned for 3 days 🙃

I'm obsessed with all the weird and wonderful ways people are reaching out to support Minneapolis from all over. The idea of shipping a hundred or more POTENT vuvuzelas to torture ice made me lol for real

Leaders are in the streets. Every day. Every night.

Our city council President, several city council members, state reps and state senators. Heroics daily.

The governor? Missing.
The mayor? All media, only media.
Our senators? Who the fuck knows.
we're going to need to see Dem leaders in the streets

"please stop" is not working and they see it as weakness

you want to help, governor? go on an ICE patrol in Stancil's Honda Fit

Not that it's at all surprising, but for those of you outside of Minnesota here's a quick sequence of events:

1) Governor Walz tells us that we must not fight anywhere but the courts.

2) ICE shoots someone else.

3) Frey tells us to eat shit and go home.

Just like in 2020, the only elected officials doing anything are a small handful of city council members and state legislators risking life and limb to protect neighbors while the rest of their colleagues and their bosses just sit there

If you have a ring camera, you're actively helping fascism. It's great to get out there and protest, but getting rid of yours and convincing neighbors/family to get rid of theirs is arguably more impactful.

Terrible! What is it with county roads being the absolute worst in the city with no real plans to fix them?

Click through to see Regina's list of people to contact about this travesty of a plan.
The final concept design for Lyndale Ave is out and friends, it's really bad. They have a SHARED USE PATH on the east side of the street.

You don't put shared use paths in busy commercial areas, especially when this is in one of the densest neighborhoods in the entire state!
