Deb Grant is currently playing Snow Blind by Black Sabbath on BBC 6 Music. This exactly how I like to see my licence fee being used.

‘Have you changed the name of the Flower Shop?’
‘Yes Boss.’
‘And it’s not a niche pun anymore is it?’
‘Erm..’

This is such a crying shame. NRS show was one of the most eclectic and unpretentious shows on the radio. They’ll never change their mind though as that would mean admitting they were wrong.
Members of Franz Ferdinand, Glasvegas, Idlewild, Admiral Fallow, Lau, The Bluebells and Frightened Rabbit have criticised the dropping of long-running shows presented by Iain Anderson, Billy Sloan, Natasha Raskin Sharp and Roddy Hart this month.
Pressure mounts on BBC Scotland as 300 music stars demand rethink on axed shows

Big thanks to Neil Miles @miles-online.co.uk for the excellent 'It's a 1990s UK TV Christmas' www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvRA...
and for bringing Mr 'I Like it, and I'll buy it' back into our lives!

It seems the Guardian doesn't think that TV drama began with The Sopranos anymore. It apparently now started in 2011...

The Air b’n’b we’re staying in has these faces hiding in the fireplace so of course I’m never sleeping again.

The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.

The death of multi-camera TV: a thread. I know most of you will know the technical parts of this (and may have read it in the other place) but bear with me. 1/ 🧵

RIP Patricia Routledge. Pictured here in one of the lesser seen ‘Steptoe & Son’ episodes ‘Seance in a wet rag n bone yard’.

I distinctly remember this as well. I think it’s probably because it was so unusual for the time is why it’s lodged with so many of us.
I remember going to see Jackie Brown at the cinema and we got the videos for Under the Bridge and Lady Marmalade before the main feature. Quite unusual in those days #totp

Watching the Moviedrome intro to ‘Don’t look now’ and whilst the intro from Mark Cousins is fine, what the fuck is going on with the camera work? Why the fuck was this considered acceptable?
July 10, 2025 at 9:49 PM
This is great but if memory serves, isn’t ’The Wicker Man’ intro specific to that particular Moviedrome version as it was the longest available version at the time? i.e. not the version they’ll be showing.
BBC Four is bringing us some classic #Moviedrome intros to The Wicker Man and Don't Look Now before showings of the films themselves. Thursday 10 July is the date for your diary.

I try to avoid using the term ‘different times’ but according to my old school science book, the best way to test the temperature of potentially boiling water is to plunge your hands into it.
