If I’m active on here it’s because I just can’t take it anymore
It’s also a great window into the post 9/11 wars, why they failed, and how they impacted the people who fought in them.

After watching this interview I think people of good faith will be able to say they know more about Platner’s life story and emotional journey than they know about probably any candidate they’ve ever voted for.

There’s a lot of radical candor here you don’t get from politicians.

Yes, maybe he put that question into ChatGPT and asked it to help him formulate it in the most opaque way possible

The DNC under Ken has been very good at doing its job in primaries — enforcing neutrality and supporting whoever wins when it’s over.

The DSCC/Schumer is doing the opposite. Now, maybe it’s not their job — but I think Martin is rightly worried that people conflate the two organizations

They will write off any election result as a consequence of shrinking the federal workforce

You made the comparison a month ago.

Whereas you are coming to this through good faith and no priors informed by previous intra-party squabbles, obviously.
October 20, 2025 at 2:41 AM
And the DSCC is “allowed” to fund opposition research against Dems in the primary and form a joint committee with one of the candidates— and voters are “allowed” to notice that and not give money to the DSCC as a result.

This isn’t about people’s feelings — it’s a dumb way for the DSCC to operate!

Did people just start making these comparisons four days ago? Or from the day he announced?
October 20, 2025 at 2:28 AM
People are allowed to advocate for candidates they support, that’s what political support is. And yeah — obviously opposition research is going to happen. But people have a right to be upset if it’s being paid for by their own party’s leaders.

Eh, let’s be honest — Mills announced the day before this leak.

She’s barely staffed up. This very clearly came from the DSCC/Schumer staff. And yeah, that’s a big deal and naturally pisses people off.

If he was a female candidate or looked like a liberal suburban New Jersey dad, is this a comparison people would be making?

Feels like it’s about working class aesthetics — which is the only thing he *might* have in common with Fetterman, and even then not really.

It shows a lack of understanding of the mechanism for how bariatric surgery works is effective for most people in the long run
October 19, 2025 at 7:10 PM
Like the immediate post surgery diet is very restrictive, and if you stay on it for three months you will lose a lot of weight. If the hypnosis helps you stick to that for three months, great. But where will you be as you begin to introduce more foods and the initial dietary restrictions are lifted?

Excellent to see!!
