There have been a total of 67 cases of active TB + more latent (not contagious) cases and some are in testing phases. Many cases were from early 2024 and already treated.

If you've been exposed, testing is indicated. Routine testing is not needed.

Not all Zarbee's Baby products are safe for babies under 12 months! While their branding targets infants, some of their products contain honey, which is not recommended for babies under 12 months due to the risk of infant botulism—a serious illness that can be life-threatening. 1/4

Office phones are blowing up with worries of TB since Kansas has an outbreak.

The reality is risk is still really low - it's just that going from very few cases to a small number of cases is a huge jump. News outlets are headlining the huge jump in cases and in small print that the risk is low.

Proud subpar pediatrician here, too. 🙋🏻‍♀️

Nearly half of all children in the US depend on Medicaid for vital healthcare access. That’s nearly 38 MILLION kids.

Pediatricians understand what’s at stake, and we demand the same of our leaders. Gross inexperience and misinformation endangers children.
RFK Jr just said the best doctors don't accept Medicaid.
So I guess I'm not one of the best doctors.
But I will continue to care for children with Medicaid or with no insurance at all.
If that makes me a sub-par doctor, then I will wear that badge with honor.

This is not the way we want Kansas to set records, but it's also not a reason to be alarmed.

With the anti-vax government heads coming, let's grow an arsenal of information to help promote vaccines. Share your favorite sources to help people understand why vaccines are better than getting sick.

I'll add well-known sites, but I'd love to help promote the bloggers with great communication.

To better serve you and provide the highest quality of care, we have made the difficult decision to limit the number of hospitals at which we see newborns. This change will allow us greater flexibility to support our clinics, ensuring more timely and effective care to our patients.

Building trust and connection with kids of all ages is truly an art, and Dr. Carter nails it!

We're thankful when families share experiences and let us be part of their family’s care.

Sadly, this is not surprising. It is hard to find proper psychiatric care. When kids are discharged from facilities, they leave with enough medication for 30 days but no psychiatric follow up. Our staff is forced to take care of issues beyond our scope. #psychsky #pedsky
