I don't know that they really could have done much since it was raining for hours before the snow. The brine would have just washed away by the time the snow started.

Coming home now and seeing how crunchy and terrible other sidewalks looked I was super glad I did mine first thing this morning when it was still perfectly easy, just wet.

In any case, I was as usual very happy to be on a bike instead of driving today. Trails were a mixed bag, as some hadn't been plowed yet, but there wasn't enough snow to make it much of an issue. Studded tires remain the winter kings. Loved getting outside and seeing the changeover to winter.

Especially concerning since she specifically talked about how decisive she would be on this issue in particular.

We just keep winning.

Absolutely agree with this! I think of it as preheating myself before going out. By the time you're getting warmed up from moving, the cold has sapped the built up heat from inside and if timed right, you never get cold or overheated!

Yeah, some of them here have used that, but I'm not sure it's always helped.

Have brought my skis up to Como on the 83 and didn't have any issues.

As I said, I think my view that buses are great is actually the hot take 😜

But generally speaking, I think you have an organization who is too used to "following standards" and can't genuinely think outside the box and hasn't been willing to admit just how much they've largely failed to address this issue. Instead, their comms person just gets mad at me for bringing it up.

Our buses here are very well maintained by @metrotransitmn.bsky.social ! I've never noticed screeching brakes, the drivers are generally friendly and professional, and buses clean. Obviously mileage may vary, but I find our buses great to ride!
