you can have a party of 2 max in 7.3 for casual matches now!! and its a funny change bc if you back to back queue youll likely start running into the same enemy duo who are also in the series exp trenches.

IIRC it gives 900 for a win and 700 for a loss, which is huge with how fast the games can go! even if you choke (like i usually do...) you can get 700 in 2 minutes versus only getting 500 for a 3rd place FL. ive gone from lv15 to lv23 in like 4 days from playing ~10 CC a day with a fun video on!!

oh and CC only has quick chat, so if someone wants to be rude, the most they can do is either spam "nice job!" (this never happens anymore bc its reportable harassment) or actually doing callouts which will hopefully get the team together. but theyre trying a bit too hard for unranked queue imo.

CC was super scary for me at first bc i used to play league so a 5v5 felt EXTREMELY serious, as if i stood out. but no one is doing regular unranked cc for anything except series exp. 10 games of CC in like 20min is so much more tolerable than any FL after roulette IMO. you got this!!!

much faster queues and some games can last as short as 1.5 minutes if one team is doing super good or super bad. the win/loss difference is a lot smaller bc of how short they are IMO. you just have to detach from the fear of "doing good" bc its wayyy too fast to let yourself get worked up about it.

Currently I use an iOS device so there might be a difference on other systems, but when you add an image to a post, the “+ Alt Text” button will appear in its top left. I checked my Accessibility settings and I don’t have any of the alt text settings turned on, so I see this by default!

name or style, you can use that in your alt text rather than literally describing it out. For example, if I say my oc is wearing a kimono with blue flowers on its sleeve pattern, I don’t necessarily have to explain what a kimono is. People who don’t know will search it to learn what it looks like!

For example, if a image is someone with a new piece of clothing that is significant to them and to sighted people seeing the image they can understand contextually why it is significant, you can point to that in alt text. E.g., “wearing a hat that their family gifted them.” If the hat has an IRL ->

Unless it’s the focal point of the image or contextually the info is needed, IMO it’s better to keep it to just saying something like “… wearing a culturally relevant hat” or describing the hat briefly. In most cases, if you want everyone to know the detailed lore, put it in regular text!

i can distinctly describe every character’s voice and exactly how they sound their tone their cadence their vibe but i try to match it to a real voice and it’s like i don’t have a big enough library. (the issue is not having a big enough auditory library…)

AND OF COURSE I’M NOT A BE ALL END ALL !!!! I’m not perfect with my own accessibility to my posts, and I’m not educated on a vast majority of screen readers or how they’re used by those that need them. What is important to me might be a hindrance to some of them!

AND I forgot to directly state this; if you’re a mostly FFXIV account, IMO the FFXIV context is being assumed by the people seeing your image. You’re describing the image as it is, not writing prose or a backstory about the image. A Cactuar is a Cactuar, a Midlander is a Midlander, etc.

It’s easy to get caught up in guidelines, but IMO the end goal is to deliver to a low-vision person the same information about an image that a sighted person would receive. Not prose, not lore, just what’s in the picture.

Especially in FFXIV where a characters’ race and clan typically summarizes a lot about their general design, so you can focus on their other distinct features and the relevant details to the image. Does it matter that they’re smiling, or is it more important that they’re happily laying in the snow?
