The Gas Chromatography-Quadrupole Time-of-Flight (GCQTOF) mass spectrometry approach they developed can also be used for sample re-analysis to identify the presence of prohibited substances that were unknown when the sample was first analyzed.

Their results highlight the variability of active compound concentrations in supplements and provide insights to improve future studies.
