Pro-European, only a federal Europe can compete at the same level as the US and China.
Is it mainstream media or social media that are bad mouthing the incumbents if they aren't extreme right?

The likes of Musk, Murdoch, Putin, Trump, Bezos... are the ones that own/control the opinion maker mechanism.

With a manifesto, the president of the Commission needs to be elected directly by the people, with a mandate this position would have more assertive stances.
Currently she is just managing conflicting wills, snail paced with hiccups is giving way to its competitors.

Ukraine is hitting the "shadow fleet" in the Black Sea, The EU/Nato dominate the Baltic Sea, the Danish straits could be closed to Russian ships, Europe could do this with ease, it would affect Russia economically, and doubt Russia has the means open another front without weakning in Ukraine.

Starmer was one of the main MPs advocating the EU against Theresa May, he was always aware of the Leave stupidity.
The gap between remain/leave isn't wide enough to give him confidence in defying the English nationalists.
Jo Swinson went head on pro-EU and the remain crowd turned out to be a few.

I would only have a referendum if the gap between leave and remain is really really wide, to accommodate the effects of the leave propaganda which has proven quite effective, Farage as despicable as he is, is a charming character to a large part of the English voters.

Someone who voted Leave and has since changed their mind is the best possible ally if there's ever an opportunity to rejoin.

Why? Because they've been on a journey Remainers never engaged on, so their testimony will ring truer to others who need persuading.

With that in mind, stop alienating them.

Europe dosen't work with so many leaders saying and doing whatever they want, it needs to evolve from the European Union to the United States of Europe, if Europeans want to play in the major league they need the unity of command tool, it's what makes our competitors assertive.

The EU should have some initiative, close the Danish Straits to all Russian ships, 30% of Russian oil exports go thru this European chokepoint.

Europeans are already at war with Russia, but this will most likely shorten the duration of the war, and we all want the end of it asap.

The Korean border is in place since 1953, this means the occupied land will be a de facto Russia.

Europe is wasting money in this confederate structure, spending energy overtaking all those 27 barriers makes it a very slow entity unfit for its purpose, if it still wants to be a relevant player on the world stage.

It's time to take the next step of evolution into the United States of Europe.

Just as the EU had a Barnier to deal with the Brexit issue, Europe needs ONE voice to speak on its behalf, these disperse statements fly low.

Unfortunately Europe is not a federal entity, but in international common issues it should behave as such, one voice with a clear mandate.

Although her standing in Scotland was shameful, partly because she was just managing conflicting wills from various European leaders.

With a manifesto the President of the European Commission should be directly elected by European citizens, giving the position independent status.
November 23, 2025 at 6:22 PM
Totally agree, the best example is Brexit, the EU made Barnier its only voice, the British knew it was useless to address European state leaders to create chaos among Europeans.

The EU is not a federal entity, but when dealing with Trump it should behave as one, only Leyen should engage with him.

Kallas is one of the polititians sleepwalking to disaster, the EU needs to evolve into the United States of Europe asap.
She needs to join Draghi, Lagarde, Sikorski,... in pushing the union into a Federal entity.
