Hmm, I wonder why David Brooks has written an op-ed about why everyone should stop caring about the Epstein files? Probably just his genuine concern for civic discourse.

I notice that #lufc fans don’t seem to want to talk about the USA-Uruguay match (I know it was just a friendly, but still…)

There is something magical about hearing "Flower of Scotland" to start a match at Murrayfield. No other anthem comes close...

Look Oregon was always gonna win this game but that makes 2 touchdowns gifted to them by the refs.

Had a really great few days in Portland at the @asm.org Conference on Biofilms. Lots of fascinating presentations, gave me a ton of ideas! Also a lot of hope for the future of science, because the kids out there are doing amazing things!

@markowenmartin.bsky.social I'm sitting here at ASM biofilms, just heard Jo Handelsman talk (she gave you a little shoutout), and now hearing your former student Ruth Isenberg talk about E. faecalis! she is now working in the building i did my phd in which is a real "small world thing"!

#LUFC fans understandably are upset but everyone needs to remember what the survival strategy is; win at home against bottom half opposition, get a couple of smash and grab wins away, get some draws against the top half. That’s the path to 40 points and survival. 1/2

I mostly don’t care about either one of these teams (OAKLAND A’s fan till I die) but I do feel bad for Geddy Lee.

since i'm saturday sports posting, this @scottishrugby.bsky.social vs @usarugby.bsky.social match is men against boys. I am a big supporter of Scotland Rugby, but its making me a bit sad. The "Tier 1 vs Tier 2" rugby nations feels pretty accurate today.

worst performance of the year (and I'm including the Arsenal game) for #LUFC. They were passive and slow to the ball, looked like a Carabao Cup match between a PL side and a League One side until the last 10 minutes when Brighton were coasting. hard to watch
