I think some of us who were outraged at the payoff Texas corp. TopGolf was promised feel justified. This should have been a no brainer: “hell no”.
The Costco plaza development fortunately continues:
Drive through Chipotle looks ready to open, new hotel construction progressing, as is Chik-fil-A (🤮)

Thanks again, Fabian. I think your point is that nonbinary aren’t being counted. My response is two-fold:
1) they can’t be counted as such in the study design, but they are counted as human beings.
2) there is no science that indicates that any gender would respond differently to flu vaccines.

I’m wish I could explain better. They are included in the numbers as humans.
There’s no evidence vaccine effectiveness in *any* studies varies by gender.
You hypothesis would have to be:
There’s no difference between male and female, but nonbinary are different?
That’s never been shown.

Again, I’ve participated in studies like this. Non-binary aren’t excluded, but they are coded as male or female based on “biological sex” (not my term).
It’s similar to political polls where some subgroups, like Muslim women, aren’t broken out in cross-tabs because not enough. But still counted.

If out of 18,000 they only observed 144 cases of flu with which to compare results, they would only expect 4 cases among the 3% non-binary. So if was 2 vs 2, or 1 vs 3, or 4-0, it’s not enough to draw conclusions.
You’d need a study recruiting 10,000 non-binary, which is a hard get.

I’ve participated in several studies and often they ask “biological sex”. Given total flu for all genders for both vaccines was 57 vs 87 cases out of the total of 18,000, it’s highly unlikely there were enough numbers to distinguish results based on gender.

The effect of sex on responses to influenza vaccines - PubMed
The poor uptake and limited effectiveness of seasonal influenza vaccines mean that influenza continues to create a significant burden of disease. It has been hypothesized that sex differences are present in responses to seasonal influenza vaccines, and that these differences may contribute to this p …

I think she’s smart enough not to run for senate. I’ve supported and gone door-to-door for Dem candidates upstate for decades. NY is not VT. You can check out polling for Gov where Hochul, James, Delgado, and AOC were floated. Her negatives are too high.

Not sure how long it’s been since you’ve lived in NY, outside of NYC, but if I’m reading the tea leaves correctly, AOC is on the slow and steady path that worked for Pelosi. In the House.

(Fun fact: Schumer visits every county in NY every year. As did HRC)

NYC alone does not win Senate in NY
