I have noted several finance firms I cover already talking about “digital employees” or worse “digital teammates”. It feels like the anthropomorphising is there to pre-bind human employees’ reactions to human employees losing tasks, jobs and power to the software.

The Blairites did at least have a theory of growth from which their ideas on increasing human capital descended. As I think you’ve said often what is the theory here at all, or where did securonomics go?

It's a useful reminder that sometimes tech can make a task more efficient for one side (applying for jobs), and more efficient for the other side (writing job adverts), and yet make the system as a whole completely inefficient.

I’m loving the idea in the US Visa/Mastercard settlement that the shoppers with the most elite credit cards will be either be turned away or charged a premium so that the merchant doesn’t have to pay for their rewards. That’s definitely going to please everyone.
