Not to mention stop tailgating snow clearing equipment. Fucking drivers in this city sit on their brains...

I don't take anything personally. I'm just pointing out that there's a double standard when it comes to making broad sweeping statements online is all.

If a guy says the same thing about women on social media he gets a new hole torn... just say'n 🤷

Always the best plan, but if you gotta go to work, you gotta go to work. I think people's first Winter here is always a shock, and truthfully our winter is no where near as harsh as it was 20 or 30 years ago. In fact, I would call the last 5 winters wimpy in comparison.

It's usually not as bad as they make it out to be. The last 10 years it seems like EC is a little dramatic in their warnings. Unless you have highway travel planned, it'll just be some snow and lots of wind. Not pleasant of course - if you do go out, cover exposed skin - windchill is a real thing.

"Hopefully, your urban planners take into consideration people’s needs/concerns and don’t use the “we know what is best for you” argument"

😂 couldn’t be farther from that around here.

I think his point is that if you can afford a car, insurance, and gas, you're not the poorest of the poor.

Hence my 'designed by idiots' comment. Typically in this city, we study everything to death and then do it the dumbest way possible anyway. Streets in the Exchange were barely cart paths as it is, and adding bike lanes (in my opinion) made those streets more dangerous and confusing for everyone.
December 8, 2025 at 2:44 PM
Bike lanes aren’t the problem. The issue is people who treat driving a car like a big video game… doing anything behind the wheel except driving and paying attention.
December 8, 2025 at 2:19 AM
They are under utilized because they were designed by idiots, & the majority of people are unable to practically bike around this frozen shit hole.
December 8, 2025 at 1:54 AM
I have watched biked lanes for hrs while waiting for elderly parents at Doctors apts downtown & in the Exchange for hours and not seen a single bike in the existing lanes regardless of season.

Less of a pain in the ass in the Summer of course…
