I write about the Brewers for Brew Crew Ball and Reviewing the Brew but I also am a jazz musician?
I guess I should just be thankful that Giannis scoring 50 in a series-clinching game six in the finals is on the list and not be annoyed that it’s behind not one but two meaningless regular season Kobe games

On Monday I wrote a ton of words about potential Brewers SP targets, then Woodruff accepted the QO and the whole thing was rendered basically moot.

That probably won't happen for this one, but predicting anything about RPs and the RP market is hard

Guy on left looks photoshopped, guy in middle looks like he's in the wrong band, guy on right looks like he's Tom Brady's dad

I'm a HOF freak, so a couple thoughts on the Vet Committee ballot released today:

1. This feels like it's designed to get Mattingly and/or Murphy in. They know those guys will get support and the PED guys won't. I think it's POSSIBLE that no one makes it off this ballot.

That was a really good bunt. I am not 100% sure it was the right decision, but it was a really good bunt.

This is crazy and one of the greatest games of all time but I present 1960 game seven:

Top 8: NYY lead 5-4, score two to make it 7-4

Bottom 8: PIT score five, capped by a three-run homer by Hal Smith, to take 9-7 lead

Top 9: Mantle and Berra knock in runs to tie it

Bottom 9: Maz walkoff dinger

That was wild and exciting but imagine for a second if Pages and Hernández collided and neither of them caught it and that was how the World Series ended

There are at least five players in this game who will be first-ballot hall of famers. Screw the Dodgers and whatever but also that’s cool.

I’m proud of Russell Wilson for using the correct “you’re”
After the Broncos’ comeback win on Sunday over the Giants, Sean Payton made postgame comments that appeared to be not-so-subtle digs at Russell Wilson.

The former Denver quarterback responded:

Tough for Seattle, they feel like kin to the Brewers. I like the Jays fine. Beat the stupid Dodgers.

So a sac bunt from the number seven hitter with runners on first and second and no outs in the second inning. Hated it. Next guy struck out, next guy grounded out, zero runs.

Another guy is American Association star Bob Caruthers, who led the league in wins and ERA+ in 1885 and in OPS+ in 1886. But the best examples are from Black Baseball, the best of all being Bullet Rogan, who was the league’s best pitcher from 1921-27 or so and had a 159 OPS+ in that span.
In all the coverage of Ohtani's great night, I have seen mentions of Babe Ruth (of course), Tony Cloninger, and Rick Wise, maybe Jim Tobin ... but not Guy Hecker, the pitcher who in 1886 led his league in batting average while winning 26 games (two years earlier, he had won 52).

Pitchers have done enough that Milwaukee could be leading this series. You cannot win against good teams if your best hitters do this.
Turang, Yelich, Contreras in this series: 2 for 33. Both singles. One of the infield variety.
