This was the first Jeffrey Catherine Jones painting I ever saw and I was impressed how I immediately understood it was a satellite against the face of the sun.
So minimal, and yet aesthetically ambitious. What a painter.

Red reflected light became a mannerism in Baroque painting. See Rubens.
