Child poverty leads to poorer health, lower educational attainment, and reduced productivity. All of this increases long-term public spending on health, education, and social care.

No child deserves to have their life chances ruined by circumstances out of their control.

It may be long overdue, but this is a great step in the right direction and highlights what a Labour Government can achieve.
