Some thoughts about the military parade in my hometown of Washington DC today -- specifically, the route. Military parades in DC are quite rare. But when they happen, they have always begun, symbolically and geographically, at the Capitol and moved outward. 1/

You cast the net too widely, and you’re gonna drown in it yourself. JD Vance’s book Hillbilly Elegy is now on a list of books to be reviewed and possibly banned, per PEN America.

So basically, the Department of Health and Human Services is finished. If you want to stay safe from food recalls, viruses, and whatever else is coming—better start looking elsewhere for reliable information.

If you call a concentration camp a "detention center," it's still a concentration camp. Just like if you call the Gulf of Mexico, the "Gulf of America," it's still the Gulf of Mexico.

What the absolute F do you people see in this con man? Were eggs that big a part of your life that a few pennies increase makes you vote against yourself?

Wow.... that is dim, dim, dim. No wattage. Can't read by it. Stupid.
He’s selling picture books from the White House tonight. It’s the Home Shopping White House.

No. The Medicaid portals were shut down because the OMB demanded they be. They’re only back up because of the outcry. I’d tell you to stop lying but we know that’s a feature of this administration.

I’m confused how awarding 4 years of back pay in a lump sum to 8,000 service members who were discharged for refusing to get vaccinated is good for the morale of the other 99% of troops who spent the last 4 years working their asses off on active duty for that same pay.

The truth of January 6th can't be erased. Watch the pardoned criminals brutally attacking police inside the Capitol and see what some call 'patriotism.' No spin, just facts.

All of this - you get less of the crap and you'll find out where the next food festival in town is. Agree 10000! Read papers.
One thing I would recommend people do as they are considering their news consumption is to lean into local. Support local reporters and newspapers. You'll still get some national news but it's usually an AP or Reuters feed, or they'll relate it to the community.

Pardoning January 6 rioters is risky. Sure, they’re supporters, but there’s no place for them in a B2B, AI-driven economy.

Who will they blame once migrants are gone, queer people erased, critics silenced, and women sent back to the kitchen to have babies and make pies?

They’ll come for him.
