Glad to hear you use term "state capture" since that's clearly what this is. Other phrase I'd like to see reheated is "post-modern coup" which was used to describe events in Türkiye in 1997. Frankly, terrifying.

But, alas, I know from my own experience that non-Westerners are far less likely to move from Twitter/X. I have returned to it against my better instincts because I want to hear from Turkish tweeps and that's the only way I'm going to be able to. ☹️

Also getting lot of begging posts which never used to happen on other site - there it was all ads for things I'm never gonna buy! Some may be valid but, alas, wld never just hand over cash on basis of post from someone I've never heard of, no matter how much need there may currently be in world.
