Haven't played the switch ports but BG2 especially holds up quite well in general. It's a kind of real-time ("with pause") combat which is a bit different, but a lot of the DNA is surprisingly similar. Daresay the plot of bg2 might be a bit better than 3.

I agree that the movement and dodging feel pretty stiff sometimes. I was able to get used to it for the most part, eventually, but it's funny that it isn't a bigger part of the conversation around the game
