Oh let me just put your mind at ease there: the one thing you never have to worry about with either Hanson or Joyce is that they will *under*-cook steak.

The Libs dropping Brad Battin for Jess Wilson isn’t going to help much electorally.

Why?

Well put it this way: you’re three paragraphs into this post and you still haven’t noticed that’s not Jess Wilson and Brad Battin, that’s Emma Kealy and Sam Groth.

Hugely enjoyed @waltermarsh.bsky.social’s “The Butterfly Thief” - both a gobsmacking story of entomological skullduggery and a sobering reflection on museums’ role in the extractive work of empire.

I was finally going to be able to grab some nugs on the way home from the monthly 774 slot. Curse those starched shirt pencil-pushers in Gower Street!

You can buy Justice Lee's judgment in Lehrmann v Network Ten Pty Ltd as a book.

That... doesn't feel right?

First bowl! After 18 months of spindle turning I finally did a bowl turning class at Pop’s Shed this afternoon. Great fun, very keen to do more! (Camphor Laurel, sanded to 400 and finished in Bivos oil) #woodturning

Oh hey did I mention we were up at Werona over the weekend and this lost and hungry pup just wandered out of the forest?!? Sweetest little boy, clearly very relieved to find humans. None of the neighbours knew him. The council ranger picked him up next morning and he’s safely back with his family.

Tried making an oak stem pot with a tube but I turned it too thin and it snapped. Took another bit of oak, tried making a tealight holder, but turned it too thin and the top came off. So I turned the remaining bit into a tubeless stem pot. Learning #woodturning = lots of elaborate-looking firewood…
