This is the vision that suburban mayors and Chicago alders in far flung neighborhoods should have for the rail corridors. I know Toronto isn’t perfect, but every Metra and CTA outskirts station should have a cluster of high rises.

In addition to passing horrific policies and ordering the military and DHS to do unconscionable things, this man has also degraded our public rhetoric and social landscape. He’s made us more numb to meanness, vile language, cruelty. He’s made us has pulled many down to their base selves

The way this is written it sounds like Gaetz just happened to rape her because of the “circumstances” and the “path” that led to this young woman “finding herself” in this situation. All the language gives action to inanimate objects and none at all TO THE GUY THAT RAPED THE CHILD!

Every pundit who clutched their pearls and wrote endless treatises on the threat to free speech was obfuscating the real threat of the illiberal right. And now here we are. Unfortunately sinister people are wielding their power to stifle and silence, and barely a peep from those same pundits.

I’m wondering if/when he dies, if they’re even prepared for replacing the VP: this would give huge power to the last moderates in the Senate like Collins and Murkowski. They could stonewall a VP appointment indefinitely to get something

There is no coordination between the shuttle bus drivers and the train drivers on the Forest Park branch line.

Below is my experience. If a shuttle bus is coming to catch a train, why not coordinate the time a bus arrives with when a train leaves?

Pretty perfect parry here by fed staff: if Trump wants to look into high renovation costs you come back with the inflation of costs due to his disastrous tariff policies.

Can anyone explain why ththis @nytimes.com no longer captions their photos?

This “caption” is just now an additional sentence adding to the narrative of the article, but giving me no information about the image I’m looking at.

When was this taken? Where?

Why are newspapers giving this up?

Read his Wikipedia page and he championed legislation to prohibit non-competes in NY, and his daughter interestingly works for the NBL union.

This isn’t true at all - they obsess about city life and what they see as immorality, immigration, gay communities, etc.

There has never been a bigger lie than the highlighted - rural America has been hell bent on destroying city life, and all that comes with it.
