Having fun crafting/sewing. In my 9 to 5, working my tail off just like everyone. Hope for a better tomorrow but work hard to make it happen.
It’s a bit chilly and snowy outside so why not try a new ornament craft. Yes, it looks a little bit messy but that is part of the fun. This is the glitter ornament from The Ornament Girl.

Finished this ornament up this morning. Pattern: Springtime by The Ornament Girl. I modified and created poinsettias for Christmas.

This one went together a bit easier once I modified a few of the pieces and folds.

Ok, this is a first for me. I’ve had plenty that were blunt but not missing the top part.
All part of the sewing/crafting fun.

Last ornament finished. Now to get everything boxed up and in the mail.
This is on a 4 inch half hemi, basic star pattern on the back. It’s hard to see but it does have diamond dust and glitter on the front.

Have a sewtastic day!

Great time with family for the Thanksgiving Day, they headed out this morning. Of course I jumped back into crafting.
Worked on a present for a friend. This is on a 4 inch half hemi, basic star pattern on the back. Need to add the edge and some embellishments.

Have a sewtastic day!

Coffee, Christmas tree and music. No better way to start the day.

Lots to do today, hopefully I’ll get a little time to craft/sew.

Go, be safe and try to be kind.

Monday! The weekends fly by way too fast.

It could be anything, bathrobe, PJ set and yes a quilt.

Laugh with me. Cause I’m cracking up. Bead found, thankfully the glue hasn’t dried.

That moment when a small red bead goes flying across the room. I’m sure I’ll find it next July. Haha

Getting the mini lampposts together. They have been sitting for a couple months. Next step will be adding embellishments once the pieces dry.
I tried a smaller version, on its own it’s cute. Next to the tall ones it seems out of place.

What a week. Very little time to sew and craft. But it seems the cutting table still managed to get cluttered.

All part of the adventure.

Have a sewtastic evening!

Took a break from decorating and put this together. I’m trying to catch up on Christmas gifts. This will be 1 of 2 ornaments sent to a close friend.

I’m lucky to have a separate outside area for spray painting. I could not imagine all the spray paint and spray glue in the garage.

Working on a bunch of different projects and gifts for Christmas.

As much fun as I’m having working on Raggedy Ann, I need to start focusing on my Christmas present sewing. It’s already the first week of November.

I’ll put all these in the WIP pile for now.

I’m still working on this dress. What a wonky design. This is attempt 3. I’m going to search through my doll patterns and find a dress pattern that might work and not be such a pain to make. lol

It’s an adventure for sure.

Created another ornament this morning with the Woven Chevron pattern by The Ornament Girl.

These are the fabrics I used in last year’s challenge and thought they would look great in this pattern.

The new acrylic ballpoint fabric pens are easier to use. These are the same style of pens that my mom used, she used a brand called Artex. That brand is out of business so I was lucky to stumble across Aunt Martha’s brand.

Now to dive in and make a few.

Practicing on the dress. My mom cut out several, I can use them to learn. There’s no collar?? So I improvised and used double fold bias tape that matched one of the flowers. Not crazy about the back, you really need to pull the sides tight to get them together. Apron & bloomers next.

Week 3 challenge. Woven Chevron

The angel fold is easy and makes for a great looking pattern on the ornament. I went with a little less bling on this one, wanted to let the pattern shine.

Did a leg swap this morning. 1 of the shoes / socks were fraying. When I removed the leg I tore the fabric on the body so did a quick interfacing fix. Mom must of used a short stitch - 2 or 2.5. Made it challenging to pull the stitches out.

Now to work on the clothes for the 5 dolls.

This is going to take some practice.

First two attempts.

I’m thankful that I purchased this bolt of muslin back in the early 2000’s.

Made lots of toys and clothes with this fabric and I’ll hopefully get many more out of it.

Pulled this out tonight to try my hand at painting Raggedy Ann faces. We will see how this goes.
