Day 16, #artadventcalendar This is The Covid Special from 2020. I originally planned to add a cardinal to make it more Christmas-y. But Christmas 2020 was like no other with the pandemic taking over. The hawk represented having to be watchful of the danger everywhere before the vaccines came out.

Day 15, #artadventcalendar This is For the Birds, based on the many bird houses on my late mom’s property in Scarborough.

Day 14, #artadventcalendar This is Last of the Summer Blooms from 2019. Based on a photo I took at Rosetta McClain park in Toronto on Labour Day.

My last post was supposed to read Day 13, not 12. And no, I haven’t been into the eggnog yet! 😜

Day 12, #artadventcalendar This is Behind the Big Blue House, Barbados. My mother in law visited there and asked me to paint this one from her photo as reference.

Day 12, #artadventcalendar This is Florida Sunset from 2019. Based on a picture of Ft. Lauderdale a high school friend let me use. Acrylic on canvas.

Day 10, #artadventcalendar This is Shadow and the Shepherdess from 2023. A favourite that sold last month at my art club’s art show and sale.

Day 9, #artadventcalendar This is Gladiolus 1, done about 10 years ago and based on flowers from my garden in Pickering. Acrylic on canvas.

Day 8, #artadventcalendar This is Pickering 1992, from a photo I took following a massive blizzard in December 1992. Sadly this view no longer exists due to everything being developed with subdivisions.

Day 7, #artadventcalendar This is Wilma and Amanda, based on a photo I took in Norway when I was 15. Acrylic on canvas, painted in 2013.
December 7, 2025 at 3:04 PM
Day 6, #artadventcalendar This is Eduardo from 2024. My daughter suggested the name and the rooster is based on a life sized metal ornament that I brought home after mom passed.
December 6, 2025 at 4:08 PM
Day 5, #artadventcalendar This is Prairie Storm from 2025. Can you see the cat in the cloud? It was a happy accident in this small (12” x 12”) acrylic painting.
December 5, 2025 at 2:11 PM
Day 4, #artadventcalendar Spring Poppies, an oldie but goodie and my best selling art card. My late mother’s garden was a source of inspiration and this painting reminds me of her. She passed in 2023.
December 4, 2025 at 1:54 PM
Day 3, #artadventcalendar This is Incoming! Mark Gray is a music teacher in Bonavista Newfoundland who let me use his photo of a puffin with a beak full of fish. I love puffins and their comical antics and wanted to convey that in my painting. Acrylic on canvas in 2025.
December 3, 2025 at 2:14 PM
Day 2, #artadventcalendar This is The Happy Pineapple, one of the 5 paintings I did during the pandemic lockdowns. So far 3 of the paintings have sold. #art

It’s December and time to post in the #artadventcalendar once again. To start off this years’ calendar I’m posting new art created in 2025. This is Linda’s Lillies, my first foray into watercolour. Thanks to @jayispainting.earthskyart.ca for organizing the calendar!
