If there isn’t a chapter reasonably close enough for you to engage with, that’s ok too. At-large members can easily get involved with the national committees, and if you ever go to an event being hosted by a chapter in your state/region, they’ll LOVE hearing about how far you drove to be there

I was co-chair of my chapter a few years ago, so I can probably answer any general questions you might have if you’re unsure. I stepped away for a bit but I’m meeting with someone next week to talk about getting plugged back in on some of the tech work I was doing before

Kansas City is still very much a neoliberal hellscape; we only have one city council member with anything resembling socialist politics (my district btw). He really could have just fell in line and not suffered any consequences outside of me shit talking him in this thread

It’s worth noting that the new congressional maps that the MO state legislature forced through were designed to break up his district, stretching it out east into more rural areas. If those maps are upheld, this is the kind of thing Dem consultants would insist he needs to be on the “right side” of
