The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration on Thursday. Once the bill passes negations will begin between DKH's Board & UConn's Board to work out an agreement of consolidation.

This important legislation also authorizes state bonding funds to support much-needed capital improvements across these facilities. This is a major step forward in securing the future of high-quality, accessible healthcare for the residents of Northeastern Connecticut.

Folks, This is what bipartisan leadership looks like! Today, we began working on the 2025 Public Safety & Security Committee agenda. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with the leadership team to hold public hearings and draft legislation. It's a great start, but we have hard work to do.

We hosted on the House Floor local Fire Chiefs and the team from the CT Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection. We asked for a moment of silence for those who gave their lives in the line of duty. The entire House stood in silence for 1 minute to honor their sacrifice.
