Big news for Northeastern Connecticut! Tonight, the State House of Representatives passed HB 8001, beginning the process for Day Kimball Health to join the UConn Health System, along with Waterbury Hospital and Bristol Hospital.

Today is James Platt’s 97th birthday, and he offered remarks at the Memorial Day observance held in Pomfret. Mr. Platt spoke of his time serving in Japan during World War II and the various ways that Pomfret has observed Memorial Day over the years.

Midway Restaurant in Ashford is a staple of the community and a gathering spot for many. After a devastating fire caused it to close in 2022, the owners regrouped, and Midway reopened with a full renovation over the summer of 2024.

Proud to recognize Vern Collins on his 90th birthday at the All Hallows Council #270 Knights of Columbus Christmas Party. Vern is a Korean War veteran who has dedicated most of his life serving as an advocate for other Military Veterans. He sets a positive example for us all. Happy Birthday Vern!
