just telling the player “hey there’s 6 guys you gotta kill. every major location in the world corresponds with one of them and expresses their theme. you will get a new weapon in each location. who do you wanna kill first?” feels extremely fresh in how crisp it is. everything feels very motivated

mm yes vibes based level design my personal favorite. in all seriousness I actually work like this because you basically have to feel out the problem in a holistic way (consider art, space, narrative) then deliver something expressive within that context. no rules will help, its different every time
