The power on stage went... music stopped for 15 minutes while new cables etc. put in place. Plectrums were thrown... MBV Manchester.

My favourite My Bloody Valentine song, at Aviva Manchester. Right up front this time but it didn't feel oversold at all. I used to play this track weekly on my radio program when it was first released. 🥲

Not forgetting Maria Somerville, who was immense opening for MBV. Listen to how quiet, respectful the audience is! An Irish music fan in the queue behind me at the merch pop up recommended I catch her set; I replied I already loved her live and was pleased to see her in the immensity of a stadium!

Kev My Bloody Valentine spent time in front of his amp wall, creating those gorgeous amp sound tones. 5th person onstage with 3rd guitar and keys. The smoke machine was on overdrive (makes photography difficult). Swans like intensity of physical sound but never strident or overdriven. Pure pleasure.
