Book #70: I Who Have Never Known Men - Jacqueline Harpman #BookSky

Really interesting concept and setting, I've never read anything else like it. I wish we got more answers as to what was going on in the world, but I enjoyed the relationships between the women. A very unique story

Book #69: Inferno - Dan Brown #BookSky

Dan Brown books are always fun but the science in this one was just too fantastical to give more than 3⭐. Interesting and twisty plot, lots of cliffhangers, and brilliantly described locations. Not good but definitely fun, basically an action film

Book #68: Dungeon Crawler Carl - Matt Dinniman (DCC #1) #BookSky

This was absolutely perfect in every way, and is a brilliant audiobook. Carl is a great guy and I would die for Donut. Fun plot, unique setting and great characters, I'll be recommending it to everyone I know

Book #67: The Buffalo Hunter Hunter - Stephen Graham Jones #BookSky

Read for the Native Voices GR challenge and so glad I did, very good. Frontier town America is not a setting I've read much in, and I enjoyed the storytelling style. Kinda forgot about the modern plot framing device

Book #66: Dragon Age: The First Five Graphic Novels - David Gaider #BookSky

I reviewed all the comics in this volume individually as I read them, nice to have them all collected together. I think Knight Errant was my favourite from the collection but I enjoyed them all

Book #65: Educated - Tara Westover #BookSky

This is a tough read but fantastic. Great insight into cult behaviour and ultra religious communities in small town America. Tara had a very hard life, but she fought to find her own path. Fundamentally a story about misogyny

Comic #24: Dragon Age: Knight Errant - Nunzio DeFilippis & Christina Weir #BookSky

Last story in the collection I read and it might be my favourite. I like that the main character was an elf and we got to see her character develop. Varric improves everything he's in to be honest

Book #64: The Thursday Murder Club - Richard Osman (TMC #1) #BookSky

Read this so I could watch the movie (Book was definitely better). Really liked it, I appreciated the unconventional cast of characters and the multiple POVs. One of the ending twists surprised me, good cozy mystery

Book #63: Network Effect - Martha Wells (Murderbot #5) #BookSky

ART is back! Really liked this one, plot kept me guessing and I always enjoy seeing Murderbot figure out their boundaries and how to be a person. Nice to have a full length novel and not just a novella, Hugo winner

Comic #23: Demon Slayer Volume 6 - Koyoharu Gotouge #BookSky

Still really enjoying this series, I liked that this volume gives more insight into the structure of the demon slayer corp, and the Twelve Kizuki. Tanjiro is just a nice boy who's trying his best really, Nezuko is intriguing

Book #62: Intermezzo - Sally Rooney #BookSky

I can now say I've enjoyed 50% of the Sally Rooney books I've read. Peter was a prick but I did really like Ivan, complicated family situations are familiar territory to me. Alexei is the best character obviously, good book overall.

Book #61: The Sun Sister - Lucinda Riley (Seven Sisters #6) #BookSky

I continue to prefer the historical storylines in these, I think I generally dislike the modern love interests (Especially #2s). I enjoyed Electra's development and the addiction theme was done well

Comic #22: White Sand Vol. 3 - Brandon Sanderson #BookSky

Nice ending, not quite what I expected. I don't like the art style change, the new style is so flat and bland. I think this story would have been better as a novel, so I'll definitely read that when it comes out

Book #60: We Sold Our Souls - Grady Hendrix #BookSky

This is a really unique concept that takes the idea of a contract with a demon super literally. Once again I find myself wishing some fictional bands were real. Great characters and an engaging plot. Will read more by this author.

Book #59: Before the Coffee Gets Cold - Toshikazu Kawaguchi (BtCGC #1) #BookSky

On my list for years, finally picked up for a Goodreads achievement. Good, but has to be looked at through a Japanese lens, the characters feel very conservative for Western ideals. Unique time travel idea

Book #58: Listen for the Lie - Amy Tintera #BookSky

Picked up for a Goodreads challenge and absolutely loved it! Listened as an audiobook which was the right move I think as the story is told partly through a podcast. Reminds me of Sadie by Courtney Summers. Very good and twisty

Book #57: The Eyes are the Best Part - Monika Kim #BookSky

This was extremely weird but I enjoyed it. Begins as a family drama, exploring themes of racism and misogyny but takes off in the second half. All the men are terrible. A very unique & gory revenge story, not everyone's thing

Book #56: Recursion - Blake Crouch #BookSky

Really interesting premise, a time travel story with a twist. I appreciated that the story considered the real world implications of time travel. The characters felt well developed also, very good overall. I'll read more by this author

Book #55: My Dark Vanessa - Kate Elizabeth Russell #BookSky

Been on my TBR for years, tough read but very good. It was interesting to be with Vanessa on her journey of processing her grooming and assault. I empathised with her a lot, she needs a hug and a support system

It was a nice way to link the plot lines together. The story starts in the mid 1950s when a murder has just occurred, then flashes back to different women telling stories of the past. And the house sort of introduces the next character to be focused on

Book #54: The Briar Club - Kate Quinn #BookSky

Kate Quinn is one of my absolute favourites and I'll read anything she writes. I really enjoyed this, felt different from her others in a good way. Using a sentient house as a framing device was definitely a choice, great book overall

Book #53: Queenie - Candice Carty-Williams #BookSky

Really unique story about generational trauma, modern racism, and healing. I really felt for Queenie throughout and her ex boyfriend was terrible to her. No one should put up with a man who won't stand up for you.

Book #52: Frankenstein - Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley #BookSky

Another classic ticked off, really enjoyed this. It wasn't quite what I expected, more philosophical and the creation of the creature is a very small part of the novel. Reflects the fears and anxieties of its time

Book #51: Gulp - Mary Roach #BookSky

I don't usually read non-fiction but this sounded interesting, I was right. Scientific but also funny, felt more like a series of stories rather than a science book. Learned some interesting things that will probably never come up in real life
