I had a quick chat with the owner and became friends. Not that I am charming, but some people are genuinely nice -- and don't mind talking to me.
He drives an ex-USA MGB and an ex-Australia Mini Cooper. Both remarkable machines, if at the opposite ends of the fun motoring spectrum.

I really like the MGB. The one featured on The Car Cult was originally a US car, converted to RHD, and brought back to India when its owner retired.
Re pushing, in hindsight, you could have just taken some inspiration from Detective Bullitt...
