Hi! I work in digital strategy & marketing and basically this same question has plagued me since they launched AI overviews. It begins to unravel not just the revenue model that everything is based on, but also the basis for AI search itself. I don't get it.

the more things get leaked / published, the more embarrassed i am for the industry and its gatekeepers

all i can say is that i hope most of them are bots. still, no one should be subjected to this garbage

one of my least favorite things about this time is that it has adopted the worst element of so many other times in history that you feel assaulted by every century and multiple decades at once

if they are german, they *will* however say the meanest possible thing about your work (speaks from experience)

If I could figure out how to do it, I 100% would.

all genres have conventions, but genre is also used as a sales & marketing tactic. your job as a reader (or listener) is to think about which conventions someone is borrowing from and why
