Aetherdrift - I love The Speed Demon and the Verge cycle is nice. The gold 1st place foils are great purely because they are obnoxious. I would still launch the rest of the set into the sun.

Avatar - I've seen and enjoyed the show, but I'm super low on the set still. I like a bunch of Jumpstart cards, but I have zero use for most of them. The mechanics seem accurate, but don't really spark any kind of "build around me" feeling for me. The return of Lessons and Ally isn't a thing I want.

Tarkir - I was hype to return and preordered the decks, but it didn't really land for me. The Will cycle stands out to me as solid. I like some of the Dragon cards and the Land cycle has been aggressively fine. Maybe I'm just more into the 2 color pairs?

Final Fantasy - I don't have much nostalgia for the games and a lot of the cards just feel weird. I love both Gogos and I think Clive is cool. I'm pretty mixed on the Summons mostly because Yojimbo and Fenrir are great. I thought Job Select was a pretty big miss outside of the general flavor.

Spider-Man - This set had several of the cards from the last year that stand out to me as highlights. The MDFC legendary cards were neat and Venom is my favorite commander this year. I've really liked Behold the Sinister Six!, Sandman, Damage Control Crew, and Lizard. Web-Slinging was kinda meh tho.

EoE - Pretty perfect set other than having fewer Wurms than I would have liked for a set with an area of space named for there being wurms there and being pretty low on Spacecrafts as a mechanic. Warp is cool and Kavu being back is something I have wanted for a while. Lander tokens are also neat.

Because the ban list that everyone reads as literal was meant to sign post potentially problematic types of plays. As a player you are supposed to look at Prophet being banned, understand why Seedborn might not be good to include, and then make the decision if it's right for your games.

Also with how low the Dragons curve can go it's possible a Signet or Talisman does his job better. Which is kinda sad to think about.

Portal starter decks and packs from a Borders bookstore

Since I play in a pretty regular group I even brought it up a couple times as "hey this is a dynamic I am seeing in Spot games" to try and make people more aware of the way the games are warping if nothing else. Mister Negative was also only 4 cards off of The Spot and thriving.
