I know a Navy commander who refused an order to sail to Los Angeles to help put down the Rodney King riots. Said his men weren’t trained for that. He wasn’t court-martialed; he later retired and was honorable discharged.

Not to mention the Starlink dish that brings broadband internet to that smartphone visible in the photo.

This is a miracle of the global economy. Coffee beans from Africa, brewing machine from India, solar panels to power it from China. Mug from, idk, maybe Kathmandu. All carried up mountain footpaths. Combined with milk from the cow around the corner to earn Rupees exchanged from American dollars.

Understood. Separately, another angle on this tragedy is China's fire prevention building standards and fire fighting capability. E.g., failure to prevent the TVCC tower fire in 2009 and the Shangrila fire in 2014. And where are those whizbang fire fighting drones I've seen on social media?

If the man wanted to kill US service members, he had plenty of opportunity in Afghanistan, and if he had done it there, he would have found safe refuge with the Taliban instead of getting slammed into a US prison. Seeing his act through the lens of Islamic terrorism is likely mistaken.

When my dog is begging for food and I order him to leave the dining room, he walks away in exaggerated slow motion. He cannot but have noticed how this makes us burst into loud laughter every time. Is this behavior his sense of humor or just a strategy for getting more food? Maybe both.

It's terrible that a couple of uniformed service members were shot on the streets of our national capital. I foresee some noisy discourse coming on guns, crime, and of course the military on our city streets. If they had not been there, would the shooting not have happened?

Does anyone love this woman? Hard to imagine. She acts like a sociopath.

The Trump administration is a rapid-fire, cluster-delivery spaghetti throwing machine. No one in the WH looks closely at any one noodle. The point is: once in a while, one sticks.

Anybody tracking the number of Trump/DOJ lawyers who’ve been disbarred over these types of shenanigans?

How very warlord of him. Emperor Qianlong must be smiling.

Can the president dictate to banks the terms of their mortgage loans?

Oh wait I forgot. He’s King.

My team, led by conservation architect John Sanday, took apart and rebuilt a 3 story wall on a 600 year old house in Tibet. It’s still standing. Story told in this book: www.pamela-logan.com/compassion-m...
