This is the email I got from ARC before my appointment Friday. It's pretty clear that the need is constant, but winter makes the regular shortfall worse and mass casualty events can very rapidly go through that limited supply.

Yes! I'm so excited! If you look at the most recent system map Metro has in stations and trains, you'll notice a dotted silver line to New Carrollton and a dotted yellow line to Greenbelt. The former already has service from every other train and the latter gets it Jan 1.
