When am I going to see discourse about these book covers?

Maybe I'm more like a 4 on this chart people always share and they're talking about people who are 5?

Just remembering 2012/13 when YA had all these sci-fi books about half-human teens.

I've been reading a book on Tolkien that just casually references practically all of Tolkien's work with no context. I admit I have no idea who these people even are.

So far this year, Pinterest is our biggest blog traffic referrer after search engines:

Excited for this ARC! It doesn't read like a romantasy to me, however. More of a reflective book with an aging sorceress wondering if she can be forgiven for the ways she has used her powers.

So excited to read this upcoming middle grade from @laurenmagaziner.bsky.social!

For my "reviving Pinterest" experiment, yesterday we got 45 views from Pinterest. Normally we get about 25. I'm not sure if this was a one-time deal, or if views will actually start to go up now.

I haven't heard anything about this new Harper Lee book except from a B&N email. Is it controversial like Go Set a Watchman?

I have done what I never do and actually made the recipe included in this book for a chocolate cake:

Kirkus is so funny. There's one sentence in this that is an actual review of the book.

In 2019, I reviewed THE BESTSELLER CODE, and I wrote in my review the authors determined that books about sex don't really become bestsellers. I wonder what they would make of the current smut-heavy romantasy trend.

I had not even heard of this until I just saw it on the B&N website, so I must ask again: Where is all the marketing these days??

My most recent finished read: The Odyssey
January 16, 2025 at 8:18 PM
Anyway, according to Goodreads, my oldest dot is the Aeneid.

Now I am just confused because I saw many people saying the point of Wilson's Odyssey translation is that it would not have sounded elevated to people of the time. That is the opposite of what she says on the literal first page.

So this summary isn't right...

The most recent book I read not only had Parts 1, 2, and 3 but also a chapter called "The Inciting Incident" and a character who remarked when the denouement was happening.

It's middle grade, so it was just going for a quirky tone doing that. But, seriously, why are so many books in labeled parts?
