The worst is when you wake up and you've got one in bed with you, doing that next to your sleepy head.

Then it's clear what we have to do: aggressively not adopt it. Not use it, disable it, and shame anyone using it. Treat it like a picket line. A no-adopt line.

I've had that happen a few times, in the middle of an otherwise fairly mild snack. Like that ONE wasabi pea that has ALL the wasabi powder under its skin. So that's where my mind immediately went.

Maybe you got, like, a pocket of spice powder baked into the seasoning of that first bite.
November 30, 2025 at 4:53 AM
Probably, yeah, but I think it wouldn't be worth it for me. I stopped buying games on cartridges once the eShop took over, so the only place I had most of my games was on the dead 3DS.

The battery totally flamed out--I think it was the battery, anyway. With actual flames. It was pretty dramatic. I think I can safely say it's not coming back from that.

I didn't still play with it that much either, but I had a few games I liked to revisit.

That looks like exactly what I need. Thanks! <3

Somehow, that wouldn't be the same, would it? Some things, like a cat's eye from the road, must be hard-won, or they aren't worth having.
November 29, 2025 at 11:30 PM
Oh, man, I always wanted one of those! Tried to dig one out, too, but they're in there tight. Plus, cars kept coming, and I didn't want to get squashed.

Can you explain how you think this man was "cancelled?"

He took a year off performing, during which he developed new material for a new audience. Since then, he's been working steadily.

I think "cancelled" is meaningless in this context. His behaviour was exposed, then he got back to his life.
November 29, 2025 at 10:22 PM
Yeah, obviously not. Doesn't look like a compromise so much as "what can I get away with cutting?"
November 29, 2025 at 5:17 PM
Ohhhh, right, I see. It's a shame to cut pieces off a field of study because you don't see immediate commercial applications for them. That's not how learning or study are meant to work. It's not all about what you can USE it for.

Because it's weird to direct promising students away from a department you're trying to save? Or because now you're wondering if she was trying to direct you away from what she saw as a failing department? Or both?

(I think I'd be wondering, too.)

Thank you! <3

And lack of regard for the planet we ALL have to live on. :-(

It's like...you poured out HOW much water for THAT?
November 28, 2025 at 6:48 PM
Oh, yes, this is also true. I forgot about their stomping. They really know how to land, too, with a "flump."
November 27, 2025 at 5:30 PM
Ha, yeah, they do. Like, "fap fap fap, screw you, I'm outta here."
November 27, 2025 at 5:11 PM
I thought the common swift was the fastest, but I could be wrong. Pigeons can certainly motor when they want to. I wouldn't doubt for a minute, they're high on the list.

Not safe for anyone immunocompromised.

Whenever anyone asks me about Doordash, I tell them Doordash is extremely disabled-unfriendly, and to order from ANY other burrito taxi first.
