Well they COUDLN'T use balloons, now could they, Dara? Because of the blades? The running bladed would shred those balloons something fierce. It'd be "SQUEEK-POP!" That's why they didn't do it. It's all in the original novel.

I'm like 99% sure they confused "Baba Yaga" with this guy who actually is a boogeyman:
