The best part of my Tri-Cities run was greeting this chunky boy. He was actually coming for a pet but I have an aversion to rabies, so to be careful I just had a chat with him then left. He was pissed off that I did not give him scritches. This is a Kennewick cat. #Washington #Cat #running
Dry winter grass supports an absolute unit of a cat, a fluffy fluff boy, this puffy fellow is white with a grey saddle and cap. His yellow eyes are half closed in anticipation of the petting that did not happen and I still have guilt over this. At the top of the frame in the background one can see a bit of the Columbia river as we are on its bank.

Long have I looked down on the river trail while crossing the blue bridge from Kennewick to Pasco & wished to have a go at that. Well I did. Ran 21 miles from Columbia Point & back all along the waterfront, hit all three of the Tri-Cities, found a lighthouse. It was not great, but it's done #running
One bank of the Columbia River at the Columbia Pt bridge crossing, the more affluent bank on the Pasco side. Picture is a landscape with the gentle rise of grass and rocks from the river immediately to the backyards of some big houses. Like those houses are right on the water. A couple small docks extend into the blue casted water. About 3/5 of the way across the photo the water has a wide vertical streak of white from the sun glare, the sun hanging above at the top of the frame, and then to the far right is the other bank, the Richland side, which is yucky cruddy grassy marsh and dust. The sky is almost the whole upper half of the frame and it's clear and blue. The other bank of the the Columbia River from the crossing at Columbia Point. This is the Richland side looking over the Pasco area. You can see on the right a triangle of bare land, just dirt and rocks and dry grass and low scrub, crossed with dirt trails, sticks out into the blue river (which is not blue, just is here because it's reflecting the sky), pinching it, while on the other side, about center left of the frame, starts the opposite bank of houses, running along the center line til just past center where it breaks to let the river past, then an island, then more river. Above all this is blue sky fading to white at the river line in the center. A small sandy colored cement lighthouse, new looking, with a couple stairs up to its base and a ramp as well sits on what is called an island but is more like a marina just off the bank of the Columbia River in the older part of Kennewick. Bare winter tree branches in the foreground reach from the upper right and the mid left to try and meet and hold hands. The sky is blue and behind the lighthouse one can see the river and in the distance the blue bridge. Looking up at the structure of the green bridge (which isn't green) from Pasco to Kennewick. A landscape picture of blue sky, the sun a bright white light to the left and slightly lowering than center, around it the tall solid supports of the many cables, making airy triangles in the sky.

Beginning of Jan my kid & I went to Troutdale. He dropped me off at the outlet mall & went on to see a movie: big movie guy. I ran the Marine Drive Trail & back then up 157th to Gresham & our car. 15 mile run took exactly as long as the movie. Crazy windy, but Blue Lake was beautiful #TrailRunning
Blue Lake from the northern shore and the park. I'd never been. Grew up hearing about how busy and crowded Blue Lake was, didn't even realize it was right there by the airport. Real pretty spot. This picture has the strong winter sunlight on its way down hitting the choppy water and making it look black and white in shadow and highlight. This takes up about 2/3 of the bottom of the photo. Above that a thin line of black silhouette showing the trees and houses on shore, above that the blue sky blanketed with a quilt of white clouds which hide the large bright sun. The northern bank of Blue Lake from the park, this is a landscape photo that shows a diagonal strip of grass and trees angling down from left to right, with a strip of white shining lake nearly straight across the middle of the photo, creating a reverse wedge to the bank.
