Everyone masks, gets anxiety, and burns out, but there's a very specific autistic experience of masking for survival, getting extreme anxiety from the masking but it also never quite being enough, and that leading to extreme burnout... that nonautistic people will never fully understand.

In my last post I explained that to be diagnosed autistic/ADHD/OCD a person must be meaningfully impaired by their brain wiring when doing critical life activities.

In other words, they can't do important life activities without support...

We need to come up with better names for neurodivergent and mental disorders, because I guarantee people wouldn't call it fake if we called ADHD something like "dopamine deficiency syndrome," or depression "serotonin reuptake disorder" or whatever. It's exhausting.

Kleptoparasitism is quite common among seabirds 🌊🐧. It involves harassing 🚨 another bird to make it drop or regurgitate 🤮 its food 🍴🐟… so the thief can snatch it 🏴‍☠️.

What a surprise to come upon this Northern Saw-Whet Owl in a park in Toronto, Canada. This was the 1st owl we had ever seen in the wild. Since this sighting,we have sighted over 800 species of birds & 12 species of owls. #birds #nature #owls #birding #birdphotography frametoframe.ca/northern-saw...
