ONE MORE WEEK UNTIL PAX!! Fun fact I did not know until today - it is the 70 year anniversary of the publication of the Lord of the Rings trilogy! Board games are not immune to this IP. oof...very different paying for my parking in advance for PAX Unplugged, having to see the final price, type in my card etc. rather than the casual "SWIPE!" as I leave on Sunday, too high on board games to look at the cost...but whatever, I have a spot that I like and I am paying for it.

Ten days until PAX Unplugged 2025 kicks off in downtown Philadelphia! PAX Unplugged is a big tabletop gaming convention with a wide variety of activities, packed into three days. Officially, things start on Friday at 10am, but I tend to drive up on Thursday evening and do a little pre-gaming (literally!). While it can be hard budgeting for a convention that happens right at the start of holiday chaos - traditionally PAXU happens the weekend after US Thanksgiving, but some scheduling fluke bumped it to the weekend before this year - it is great to have this event to look forward to all year.

I’ve voted 7 times to reopen the government in a way that holds Trump accountable for his lawlessness and prevents a health care crisis.
I’m prepared to work toward a compromise, but this “deal” before us does not come close to meeting those terms. Voting NO.

The Black Cauldron, Saruman, and especially the wizards from Patricia Wrede’s Enchanted Forest Chronicles were the inspiration for this crusty old Magus and the creepy homunculus he’s summoning. Another illustration for the next fairy tale role playing adventure for Perils & Princesses.
