"Your calm, rational, logical takes have no place in this world, Brian."
Sharknado was one of the great days on social media for me and today was similar.

I learned every single thing that was happening as it happened, got to see everyone's jokes about it, and didn't have to actually watch the stupid thing.

Makes sense. Tulsa based entertainment.

MTG being only marginally in her party's network makes her more likely to break away like she did on Epstein, but also unable to bring any others with her and throw her hands up in frustration like this.

Good to see Groucho Marx still getting work.

I like Donovan, but it sure doesn't feel like the Astros have enough to get him.

Apparently a new feature from Substack.

They could make it work with playing Yordan in LF a bunch...which would be a choice.

So I agree with you, it doesn't make sense for them to keep both Walker and Paredes. Yet, it's more likely than I had thought.

Solidarity from someone in the same boat.

Maybe. But it's too early to really tell from the outside. Team that miss out on Alonso are the most obvious target for that.
November 20, 2025 at 3:30 AM
This seems to open a path to keeping both Walker and Paredes this offseason. Which is not what I expected.
November 20, 2025 at 3:26 AM
They have to nail the move to an SP. But that is true regardless of any of the other moves they make this offseason.

Technically, Allen is projecte for more fWAR by Steamer, but that's mostly a function of him being projected for more PAs. But that will change for him (and Dubon) with the trade.

But these projections say it's a closer baseball trade than most people--myself included--initially thought.

FWIW. Steamer projections. 2026.

Dubon .260/.300/.375 88 wRC+
Allen .237/.302/.321 76 wRC+

I can see them dealing Matthews (I'm skeptical of his hit tool).

But I don't think what they do with Matthews influences what I think of Allen. He can't hit enough to add a ton of value, even with the premium glove.

Asset seems strong to me. His hitting is so weak it takes away much of the value of his glove.
