Yes! I’ve had to do this too. It also helps when shopping at outlet stores. They sell out in the women’s section but have plenty in the men’s section, since my size is at the lower end of the men’s range. Sadly it only works for sneakers. Smallest men’s ankle boots are a size too big for me :(

For those following along on this, I will not be trying the Ingram Spark version, because this person already did and took photos! Spoiler: same deal, just perfect-bound books with hard covers. So I’ll just stick with the Lulu standard-paper paperbacks, since I know the quality is good for journals.

Start practicing your scripts now:
💠 "All food is just food."
💠 "I'm not labeling my eating today."
💠 "That's a weird thing to say out loud."

PRO-TIP: Have your phone ready to suddenly need to "take this call" and leave the table.

You don't need my permission, but if you find yourself in an RSD spiral, remember:

You can leave.

You can fake a work emergency.

You can say "I have to go" and just... go.

You don't need a reason that satisfies them. Protecting your mental health IS the reason.

Not at all! That’s the main thing I’m looking at (are there outcome differences for those who got the “formal” diagnosis vs self-identified?). There’s a question about whether you do/don’t identify as Autistic; if you say yes, it asks about when you first suspected and more about that experience.

Thanks!

No, everyone gets the community questions, as someone might feel part of the community due to close relationships with Autistic folk or from general neurodivergence. It’s not the main focus, but I’m quite interested in seeing what comes out of that dataset.

All Australian adults, at least. The purpose of the survey is to compare life outcomes and experiences across the two groups, as well as across different types of identification (i.e. self identification versus diagnosis via in-depth assessment versus diagnosis via informal assessment).

I also need non-Autistic Australians to participate, so I have a comparison group. It’s slightly faster if you’re not Autistic, as you skip all the questions about experiences of diagnosis.
