Ooh that’s a shame. A nice bit of pre-Christmas gaming would’ve been just the thing.

Being bored at work is almost as bad as being stressed, imo.

Shame work isn’t like school used to be where you could bring in board games close to Christmas.

Oof, four years?! I was thinking like 18 months, whoops. 😂

Indeed. If there was any justice in the world, or he had any shame, he’d have disappeared from public life a decade ago.

Just when I think I’ve run out of reasons to say ‘fuck what Nick Clegg thinks’, this comes along.

No problem, it’s a decent episode, about an hour and twenty minutes. He clearly very thoughtful on his own process and it interest how he got where he is. Hope you enjoy it.

I had such high hopes for the series; thought we might final get something a bit more gritty. With Michelle Yeoh you would imagine they were guaranteed success.

Instead we got… I dunno, what… a movie trying for Mission Impossible but failing badly.

At least it was only 95 minutes long.

Even as a non-driver, the hand (parking) break thing annoys the living daylights out of me. It’s such a basic, how can they miss it?!

That’s before we even start on the lack of seatbelts, most modern cars won’t stop with the warning noises until you buckle up.

It’s only worth something if he can convert the "value" into real money. From the little I understand of it,memecoins are cryptocurrency intentionally created to be at many times more stupid and risky than regular cryptocurrency… for ‘bantz'.

😂 probably just as well, having tried and failed to get into GTA: Chinatown Wars, which was as close as it’s ever going to get. That probably a realistically good idea.

Kids today with their fancy three dimensional GTA. Will never understand the joy of running over a line of religious chanters in top-down view, Rockstar should make GTA6 top down only* then they’d learn something!

*please no, that would actually be awful.

Hate to say it, but it’s my least favourite Star Trek.

It was a great idea, but for some reason it never clicked with me. I don’t think overall there’s much wrong with it, it’s just missing… ‘something’.

For whatever reason, to me, the whole is not worth more than the sum of its parts.

Very true. Donkey Kong Country was particularly expensive because, IIRC, it had to have extra storage too due to the size of the game.

I went from a SNES to a PS1 in 1995 and my wallet thanked me for it.
January 17, 2025 at 12:07 PM
Yeah absolutely, you could buy games at many price points from so many places.
January 17, 2025 at 11:58 AM
If memory serves correctly some of my SNES cartridges were around £60. I think Donkey Kong country was mid 60s and that was 1994 too… or around £130 now.

I think that time and brain space was definitely my issue. I used to read at bedtime, now I’m just too worn out to focus.

I was kind of struggling with my kindle in low light though as it was an older model and didn’t even have a back-light let alone dark mode. New one is nice but expensive.

I feel that. Didn’t read anything post August holiday last year. It got hard to find time to fit it in. My backlog now sits at (a relative low) 38 books. But I’ve read three since Christmas, which is good.

I even stupidly splashed out on a new bigger screen kindle, which has helped a bit too.

It is, it’s very true to the book. In my opinion probably the best PKD adaptation out there by a country mile.

Keane Reeves suited his role and the rest of the cast was really good in there roles, that movie is probably the exception that proves the rule.
