Fair point. I'll check the research on that, may just be an old prejudiced assumption. Definitely willing to pay more for local farmer produce just for the economic impact so long as its a reasonably close environmental cost.

I try very hard not to buy produce that can be produced locally but has been imported. Economies of scale be damned thats just wasteful.
