Matthew Stafford has been everything the Rams could have hoped he would be. But as he continues to cement his place in Rams history, one has to wonder if we will remember him as a Ram or as a Lion. Wrote more about Stafford's historical impact on two franchises:

I fell in love with Michael Penix while he was at Washington and he is someone I will always root for. His latest setback is a stark reminder of how fleeting time in the NFL can be, and why injuries suck so much. My latest below on Substack

In case you ever wondered what it looks like when I’m deep into stat research for an article

They liked the way the article came out and it was a very fun project to take on. After the piece went live, they asked if I’d be interested in some pasta.

As a pasta dish merchant I couldn’t say no and they sent me some of their Al Bronzo and Protien+ pastas to try. Pretty cool!

Has ring counting and ring culture impacted our ability to properly evaluate players?
October 23, 2025 at 3:43 AM
There is a special satisfaction that comes from watching a team in the bad times and watching them figure it out, a payoff that makes being a sports fan so special.

When a team goes on an unlikely playoff run, it is often overlooked because it didn't end in a championship. Do we diminish the small bits of joy because of our obsession with judging by ring count?

Pretty sure this is the first time I’ve made lasagna since my restaurant days. Ya boy’s still got it.

The Steelers will be wearing these this weekend. The thing about these centennial jerseys homages is that they always feature the khaki pants, since that was indicative of the era. These would be passable and decent with black pants!

Was messing around with some breakfast stuff today. Croissant toast topped with egg, pico de gallo, corn salsa, and topped with cilantro lime dressing.

For Kim’s birthday we treated ourselves to some dinner at Whiskey Prime. Steak was aged for 45 days and finished with rosemary and thyme. Broccolini was with tahini and lemon, a great meal!

Heading into Sunday Night Football I was expecting a fantasy football loss. But thanks to Dalton Kincaid I snuck a victory out. 5-0 on the season!

As the AI space continues to mature, there is growing skepticism about its utility and impact on society. As sports leagues consider adopting the technology, will that skepticism become a factor? Tyler Hochman and I discuss.
September 25, 2025 at 3:37 AM
More and more sports leagues are looking into utilizing AI tools to help them parse data into actionable decision on the field in real time. Tyler Hochman joins me this week on the podcast to discuss this and other AI in sports topics!

Anyone that knows me knows I absolutely suck at making desserts. With this chocolate truffle kit I was muddling around with yesterday, I made these. A decent variety of chocolate, s’mores, orange, and mocha espresso variants. Didn’t turn out too bad even if they don’t look so great 😂

Is the NFL apolitical? Recent tributes suggest otherwise. Wrote more about how the league reads the political winds and often follows them. Check out the full piece, now live on Substack. Link in pinned post.

Adam Silver recently called the NBA a "highlight-based sport" when discussing the league's new media landscape. It's a comment that feels dismissive of fan concerns while also setting the sport down a path that loses the essence of a basketball game. Check out the full article on Medium and Substack

I skipped fantasy football last season, but I’m back in this year. This was the team I drafted today in a ten team full point PPR league. How badly did I mess this up?
