Let's not spend a lot of time and energy on the demise of MTG. Let's concentrate on facing down the remaining Trumpers, MAGAts, GPers and ICE thugs.

On left: Biden-era bread slice. On right: Trump slice.

Same brand, same single loaf product from same store. Price is up, size is down. But, hey, we sure showed those Venezuelan fishermen, right?

A black bear entered a Dollar General store in Vernon NJ, bit a woman. Had to be put down by wildlife cops. Witness said bears had been feeding on unsecured dumpsters/garbage cans behind local businesses. A FED BEAR IS A DEAD BEAR.

In 1776, pro-British Loyalists (AKA: Tories) gathered north of Wilmington, NC in anticipation of meeting a British amphibious landing. A Patriot force met them at Moore's Creek Bridge. The Loyalists - mostly Scots - attacked waving claymores. The last Highland charge. They were shot to pieces.

George Washington wanted very much to be a British Army officer. After his services to the Crown during the French & Indian War he applied for a commission. He was told, essentially, Thank you for your service, vile colonial, now GTFO.

Bad mistake. Bad. bad mistake.

Von Steuben had been portrayed on postage stamps, given his name to naval vessels and several places in the US, has annual parades in his honor (incl the one shown in "Ferris Bueller"). His statue is at Valley Forge, PA and Lafayette Square, DC. Von Steuben was almost certainly gay.

When the war moved south, von Steuben was sent by Washinton to VA where he organized & dispatched the supplies and reinforcements that enabled the Americans to successfully oppose the British & then recapture N & S Carolina & GA. Von Steuben was almost certainly gay.

Not only did von Steuben train America's troops in battlefield drill from the individual soldier to the full regiment, but he instituted camp sanitization measures that reduced losses from disease & death. Von Steuben was almost certainly gay.

Without Friedrich Wilhelm "Baron" von Steuben, the American Revolution would have been longer, harder and perhaps unwinnable. He turned a pick-up army into a trained force able to stand up to the British best. Von Steuben was almost certainly gay.

We could really, really use a political skeptic version of James (the Amazing) Randi (RIP 10/20/2020) now to effectively expose to the public just how warped things have become. I note, however, that despite Randi's best efforts, many people still believe in bent spoons and chatty tomb dwellers.

White Santa as we imagine him was invented by the Coca-Cola Company. Just like Jesus as imagined by the right is a product of King James I's propagandists overlain with Aryan fever dreams.

The capture of Redoubt No. 10 doomed the besieged British army at Yorktown. Among the attacking American troops were a number of free black soldiers from Rhode Island. These men tend to get left out of the paintings and dioramas and re-enactments for some unknown reason.

I vaguely remember something from my American History class about what happens when the Federal Government sends soldiers from some states to invade others.
