While I agree Medicare Advantage is not worth it and a bit of a scam, some plans provide a grocery allowance that typically ranges from ~$25 to $200 per month, depending on the plan. So when you suddenly take that away from a number of people, now all those people are struggling to afford food.

that's the beauty of traditional medicare. it's available to everyone 65 or older no matter what.

I'll go extremely nuts and bolts here. While I support a nationalized health system, in its current form conservatives have pushed for price transparency over the years and have gotten some wins. This can make the healthcare system slightly less dumb. Almost none of these laws have been enforced.
