Doing a reading of a mid 19th century ghost story set in Cornwall that has all the Cornish people saying "ye" to each to each other because they guess what Cornish people might say

Great video. Its worth noting that this was also a period in which GW were quite into rainbows. The colleges of magic get developed the next year and with them dungeon bowl ans the rainbow wizard college and their rainbow striped team. Just one of those obsessions that briefly gripped the studio.

These two came in a pack for some reason.

Because I first encountered this sort of art in the John Bolton illustrated Lets Play Chess book. I often look at sword and sorcery stuff like this and my first thought is "So what is this teaching me about chess?"

I learnt nothing about chess from this book- the drawings are too good.

The AI chapter headings that spotify genetates spoil key points in the plot of the story.

How does someone come up with a technology that has such queasy vibes?

Interesting to think about how these compare to other games. Warhammer FB had a few casualties, but not many, whereas Blood Bowl seemed to be very into them.

I love the ubiquity of musicians in warhammer. Imagine absolutely losing your. soul as a chaos worshipper, gone out of your mind, file your teeth, wear human skin, and then in the battle they put you on bongos.

An adendum to "politics in warhammer"discourse is that in 1990 the offical golden demon book featured orks collecting the poll tax from a snotling at bolter point with a flag on their buggy that says "Derby County Council"

Its worth noting that the commentary was about making tents from greenstuff.

So sad that it takes great artists dying to see some ofntyeir art work for the first time. I had no idea about this Knifton bamget until today.

Emma Thompson and her husband in Down Cemetary Road look like a pairing you'd find in a spectacularly unsuccessful Guardian Blind Date column.

I bought a load of the scenery. Its slightly too small for 40k( even rogue trader models) but it is just the right size to home Rogue Trader era ratlings!

What a silly game.

Did you know Lawnmower Man had an rpg with an accompanying miniatures line?

Because it did.

The company that did this did a similar thing for Aliens and Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula.

The games and the minis all seemed terrible.

Spring Heeled Jack appeared in the initial Monster In My Pocket toy line which included some surprising deep cut monster examples.
